After sleep you may penetrate into the mental plane, which is a world of its own. You see there the mental formations of all those events which are in the process of manifestation, actualization, or objectification. You can see some Teachers or senior disciples who conduct group meetings to instruct people in the art of thinking, planning, and creativity.
On higher planes you can see advanced scientific, psychological, and philosophic work going on continuously. Students in and out of incarnation attend these classes, just as they attend our colleges and universities.
On the other hand, there are large number of distorters in the mental plane who use the illusions of human beings and try to impress upon people, who are as yet new in the mental worlds and can easily be deceived, their own interpretations. On this plane you sometimes witness great battles between forces of light and forces of darkness who fight using the force of thought power. Sometimes Great Ones can destroy an army of evil forces with one arrow of a thought.
People do not realize that the mental plane is often a field of battle where the future of the culture and civilization of mankind is decided. Great Ones continuously emphasize the need for right thinking, cultivation of a thought life, meditation, concentration, and contemplation. When a disciple passes away, his thoughts and his power to think, meditate, concentrate, and contemplate will be his greatest shield, protector, and weapon through which he will pave his way toward higher planes and inspire people on earth with dreams, ideas, and visions.
Anyone who knows how to have pure thoughts is a future soldier in the Army of Light.
On the mental plane there are the mental devas, Solar Angels, and Initiates who serve the Plan. They bring inspiration to the mental population from higher spheres. They appear as fiery beings. You can also find on this plane thoughtforms that are projected from higher sources. These thoughtforms are treasures for the future development of the human mind.
There are also millions of thoughtforms projected from living or mental beings. Some creative artists stay for a long time on the mental plane to plan for their future creativity on the foundation of a more intelligent approach -- a creativity that is not only beautiful and meaningful but also useful and helpful for human evolution.
It is very interesting to know that on these three planes you see many animals, birds, and flowers built of the corresponding substances of the planes. Advanced animals such as whales, cats, horses, elephants, and dogs appear on the lower mental levels. Other animals can be seen on the astral levels, such as bears, lions, and tigers. On the etheric plane you see some snakes, gophers, wolves, and other types of animals.
All these planes are the fields of our dreams, and our dreams are formed by the objects and events in these planes and by our reactions and responses to these objects and events.
Above the lower mental plane you rarely see any animal forms, except if they are intentionally created for certain reasons.
