An organized and progressive mind creates an organized and progressive life

As we leave behind our psychological childhood and feel relatively mature, we begin to realize that our life is the reflection of our consciousness. Life is the result of how we think and where our consciousness is. An organized and progressive mind creates an organized and progressive life.

When we speak about meditation, we are trying to prevent a great danger

When we speak about meditation, we are trying to prevent a great danger into which humanity is already entering. This danger is that of becoming machines through which other people think, speak, and act. The majority of humanity is now falling into this danger.

Meditation makes a person a free thinker. Through meditation, he not only thinks, but he also evokes intuitive light. Intuitive light gives him direction. Thinking enables him to follow the direction he chooses without being influenced by others.

The enemies of humanity, those criminals whose only aim is to satisfy their own vanities, are eager to attack those who know how to think. They try by all possible means to turn people into machines that have no will or direction so that they can use them any way they want. Meditation protects us from falling into such a trap because through meditation, we develop our thinking. Through thinking one can see things as they are, and with intuition he can penetrate into the motives of people's hearts.

Try to be graceful

Gracefulness creates bridges between people. It is magnetic. It evokes the beauty, the goodness, the talents, the hidden potentials in the people and brings them out.

Sometimes when you speak with your wife, with your children, with your friends, ask yourself, "Am I graceful or not," because people think that if you are tough and brutal, you are man, you have strength. It is just the contrary. The most powerful man is so graceful. I know from my Teachers. They were sometimes six, seven feet tall. They were so powerful physically, emotionally mentally, and they were so graceful in their movements, in their speech, in their voice.

Gracefulness channels healing energy to other people and into your aura. Try not to be "macho." Try to be graceful. One day a family came to me. The husband and wife hated each other. Eventually I solved their problems and then the man said to his wife, "Come here." He pulled his wife over and gave her a rough hug. I said, "What are you doing?" "That is my way to show love." "But look at your wife. You squeezed her to death. Be a little graceful." Gracefulness brings out the fragrance from other people. Gracefulness brings out the fragrance hidden in other people.

Try to be graceful. It is very difficult for some people to be graceful. Those who have difficulty in being graceful, think about gracefulness and watch your actions. See how beautiful you will feel, how healthy you will feel, and this is not exaggeration.

Exercise to overcome habits

Habits are dispersed by the energy of freedom which can be evoked from our Soul. The energy of freedom is a special energy that comes from the Intuitional Plane and is directed by the human soul living in the higher mental plane. He can take this energy and release it on any habit pattern and slowly dissolve it.

We can invoke the energy of freedom by using the following visualization exercise:

1. Sit as relaxed as you can.
2. Visualize three blue stars in a triangle above your head. See at the center of this triangle an orange-blue flame. See a ray of energy branching out from the flame, linking the three stars.
3. Visualize your habit in action, or forming an event.
4. Visualize the stars and see the energy of the stars forming a fiery arrow.
5. Let the energy of the fiery arrow hit the habit in action, or the event created by the habit, and see the habit or event dissolve or evaporate.

This is a very potent energy called the energy of freedom. It releases the prisoner -- the human soul -- from the habit. Whatever is limiting a person is a habit in the process of forming. Do not let it form. Melt it away; disperse and annihilate it. Through such a simple method one can overcome the habits of smoking, drinking, improper sexual habits, certain eating habits, and habits of thinking, feeling, and acting.

Most sicknesses in the body are due to our habits. Habits weaken our organs and glands. Certain habits burn the tissues and nerve endings. Others petrify the tissues and nerve endings and make them unable to maintain their original functions or become particularly susceptible to germs. Habits create disharmony in the system and violate the freedom of the human soul.

Meditation vol.1

A fiery soul must spread fire

A fiery soul must spread fire, and because of him the members of his family, his associates, his co-workers, and his friends must feel the urge to improve, to be beautiful, righteous, noble, and joyful. If a person thinks that he is fiery but he has no effect on the lives of others, he is a self-deluded person.

Fire manifests as wisdom, as light, as love, as energy. It is impossible to resist fire. Fire eventually destroys hindrances and releases the jewel in the core.

Your children and your friends must enjoy and even look for your fire. Life on this planet is pretty cold. The frost of hatred, malice, slander, crime, terrorism, poverty, hunger, loneliness, and so on are all the result of the absence of fire. Once people feel that you are a fire, they will come to you to feel warm. All Great Ones attracted millions of people because of Their fire. It is through Their fire that They initiated a process of transmutation all over the world.

The fire within us eventually brought us into the human kingdom. What a privilege it is to be human! This means that we worked so hard for centuries to break through and enter the human kingdom. It is the same fire within us that will eventually make another major breakthrough and lead us into the Kingdom of God where we will live as souls, as flames.

Meditation is dangerous if a person is in conflict with himself

Meditation is dangerous if a person is in conflict with himself, with the goal he aspire to or he believes in, or with what he tells others to do.

Such a double standard creates complicated tension within a person's consciousness and within the electrical system of his etheric, emotional, and mental bodies. It also creates dangerous cleavages in his being. If a person continues to meditate under such circumstances, he widens the cleavages and increases the conflict, which culminates in the total exhaustion or destruction of the person.

Inner conflict weakens a person to such a degree that he begins to hate the Teaching, meditation, and spiritual discipline. Things lose their value when they do not affect and change our lives or when they do not become part of our real being.

-Torkom Saraydarian
Meditation vol.1, p.162

Meditation creates a very important kind of tension

There was a girl who was a beautiful singer, yet there was something lacking in her voice. Although outwardly everything about her was beautiful, her voice did not move the hearts of others. I suggested to her that she practice meditation, and she took the advice. Six months later she gave another recital, and this time the audience was thrilled. There was an electrical charge present in her voice that had never been there before. Until she practiced meditation, her voice came from her solar plexus, as it may come from the lungs, from the heart or emotions, or from the throat. Now her voice comes from her soul and has great power to inspire others.

Meditation creates a very important kind of tension, an accumulation of tremendous energy in the mind that is harmonized and used in mental and higher spheres for creative work and for the benefit of humanity.

Joy is the victory of Spirit over problems

What is real joy? What are your sources of joy? Are you joyful at all? If not, why not? Are you able to give joy to others, or are you burdening them with yourself? There are many people who are a burden to others, offering only their criticism, miserableness, and meanness. Can you uplift them, or are you one of them? Through this questioning process, you open your mind.

To find the strength to overcome any crisis, we need great joy. We must meditate on joy because joy brings us energy and increases the quality of our meditation and, thus, our problem-solving abilities. Joy is the victory of Spirit over problems.

-Torkom Saraydarian
Meditation vol.1

Meditation cures many psychological problems

Meditation also cures many psychological problems. A lady came to see me because she had undertaken many medical examinations, as well as psychological and psychiatric testing, without successfully finding the cause of her depression. Although the doctors were able to give her condition many interesting new names, she was still depressed. After she discussed her problems with me, I said to her, "Do you know why you are depressed? Just think about this and you will be surprised. Your depression is the result of having a great vision and not being able to actualize that vision." She began to cry when she realized how true this was.

When a person's soul begins to respond to the vision that life as he knows it is not all there is to life, that he is living in misery but something else is calling him, he becomes depressed. He sees the mess and deplores it, but he is, nevertheless, living in it. At this point the Spirit rebels and exerts a powerful pressure upon the personality. This is experienced as depression.

The solution is meditation: the technique of slowly allowing oneself to fuse with his vision and actualize it. The more able a person is to actualize his vision, the happier he becomes. His labor and enthusiasm increase, and he finds that he no longer has the time nor inclination to be depressed.

People often think that the vision is "somewhere out there," but it is not. The vision we sense is within us; it is our Inner Glory, our potential for spiritual bliss. When one brings this into actualization, he is never depressed because the Spirit is incapable of depression. It is the Almighty Presence which is everywhere, in everything. How could Divinity be depressed?

Meditation has enormous healing power

Meditation has enormous healing power because it leads to contact with the source of all healing: the Almighty One. God is Power -- pure energy -- and if you contact Him, you can heal yourself and solve your own problems. Meditation, if practiced correctly, takes you to the source of life within you and releases that light into your whole system. For example, many times I have had trouble with my digestive system. If I meditate for half an hour, everything becomes normal again.

When people flatter us, how can we stop that from building our ego?

Q: When people flatter us or give us compliments, how can we stop that from building our ego?

A: You cannot stop the person. The person will say, "I love you. You are so beautiful." You give cars to them. You write letters to them to flatter them. It is disgusting. You encourage them in their attitude. You must watch yourself. You cannot control others.

You must watch your reaction, whether you are responding or reacting. In this case you must react. You must say, "I am not really that man whom you are praising."

A wise man said, "Whenever a man praises me, I remember my sins." You remember your sins -- for example, when someone is saying to me, "You are the most wonderful this and that," I remember what I did wrong in the past. I say, "Ah, this is false praise." You escape that way. You do not listen to that anymore. Why are you flattering me? "You are the most honest man." Really? Maybe I did in the past many dishonest things. I remember that. When I remember, I do not pay attention to their flattery. This is the first practical answer.

If you do things intellectually only, you destroy yourself.

You do things intellectually but without love. If you do things intellectually only, you destroy yourself. That is why our civilization is destroying itself. Scientists created the atomic bomb, atomic radiation, atomic leakage. They created. They wanted to destroy enemies, intellectually. Now our lands, lakes, and oceans are all polluted because there was no love in it, and there was no willpower in it. They created through the intellect.

It is very serious and very, very clear, but who is seeing it? They are not seeing it. A scientist is sitting there and thinking, "What can I make so that eventually in one moment I can destroy a city, I can destroy civilization, I can destroy nations?" It is pure intellect. Pure intellect destroys itself. You must mix with intellect some mixture of love.

If you use only your intellectual energies, you always create physical sickness. If you use only your love energies, you create emotional sickness. If you use your will energies alone, you create brain sickness, nervous sickness. Most of your sicknesses are the result of disproportional use of these three energies.

It is like chemistry. You have three chemicals. If you use them individually, one burns, one extinguishes, one destroys, but the three together enhance your health.

What is a saint?

It is very important that each of us eventually becomes a saint, because sainthood is the station on the road that leads us to perfection; it is a station that we cannot bypass.

Now what is a saint? A saint is a man or a woman who has taken the Third Initiation. He or she is purified physically, emotionally, and mentally -- a spotless human being. Of course it is not easy to be spotless. You will be spotless mentally, emotionally, physically, with your expressions, with your words and actions, and reactions. You will be a man who is totally in balance under the principles and laws of the Universe.

The purity of physical, emotional, and mental bodies of saints brings into their system a tremendous amount of power. If you have been in the presence of a saint you can feel it. He is charged with psychic energy. He has power.

Sainthood makes you so beautiful. Some kind of beauty and charm comes in your face, in your body.

In each of us, in our heart, there is something that aspires in rare moments and says, "I wish I was so pure." All our endeavors, all our striving eventually must turn into striving toward holiness. It is not easy. The path of holiness is struggle, fight, sleepless nights, failures, and battles in your conscience, battles with yourself.

You cannot be a saint until you clean your karma. You are going to pay; you cannot be president until your taxes are paid. So do not increase your karma.

A saint is one who is always in contact with the Other Worlds, he lives in many worlds, not just two worlds. His sphere of contact is not limited to his personal life; it is beyond that.

A saint is one who has given himself to an exceptional service for humanity. You cannot be a saint sitting in your home and hallucinating that you are a great initiator; impossible.

When we are talking about saints we are not talking about pictures hanging on the walls of churches. They can also be saints. We are talking about men and women who are fighting in the battle of life, everyday life, in their family, in their community, in their nation, in the international fields, everywhere.

There is a great mistake in holy literature that a saint is a religious person. It is not so. Religious people have monopolized sainthood. Who said this is so? There are saints in politics, in education, in philosophy, communication, in science, in arts, in religion, too, and in economy. You cannot progress only through religion. You need seven fields, and in the seven fields saints exist.

A saint is one who has no personal will but acts by the will of the spirit. Whatever the Soul tells him, he does it. Not to have will does not mean you do not have direction and personality, but you always do the will of that Almighty Something; you exist for Him. That is very heavy.

So actually the development of sainthood within you is the decrease of the will of your ego, which is totally contradictory to what we learn in our schools and modern society. That is why modern society hates sainthood. Sainthood? Then how could we do all the things that we do to have fun?

A saint is a man or a woman who is totally harmless -- physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually harmless.

Sainthood is not the result of opening our centers. It is not anything that you can "buy" by gymnastics, yoga, breathing exercises, this or that trash. Centers do not open safely unless they are balanced with a holy life, an expanded consciousness that can handle the energy that will flow from the centers. Actually, opened centers are the result of sainthood. When you are a saint you bloom. Everything blooms. That is why you know, you have energy, you have power, you can heal, you can transform because you are a purified personality.

A saint is one whose heart is totally filled with compassion. I will tell you a little story that happened. One of our monks was very, very pure. This man went and brought some grains from two, three miles away. When we opened the grains, he found big, big ants in the bag. He said, "Oh beautiful, I brought you two miles away from your home." I said he's crazy and I was just ready to step on them. He said, "Torkom, put them back in that bag." I said "All right." He took the bag two miles back and freed them and he brought the grain back and he said, "Now I feel good." So for six months I said he is nut, nothing else. I made jokes about him and made his life so burdensome.

One day he came and said, "You know, ants are life just as you are. What about if somebody takes you two miles away and leaves you there?"

One day I saw him sitting and crying. I said, "What is the matter?" He said, "Look what you did. To pick one apple you cut the whole branch." He was crying for what I did. Then I suddenly realized that this man is five thousand years ahead of me. I saw how backward I was sometimes.

Q: Does sainthood carry on in us from one life to another?

A: If he has duties to do, he comes back since he did not finish. He is a Third Degree initiate and he must finish the Fourth Degree, Fifth Degree and then the Sixth Degree. In the Sixth Degree he decides if he is going to come back or not. That is his business. But in the Third Degree he is going to come back because a Third Degree Initiate has finished his personal karma but did not finish his national karma and human karma and global karma. He is going to pay for you. A saint is one who writes checks to pay your debts.

Their life is a sacrifice. Saints are sacrificial people because when the will is not yours but God's, your life is a sacrifice. Actually, sacrifice means total dedication to an exceptional service.

How does the ego affect self-esteem?

Q: How does the ego affect self-esteem?

A: Self-esteem is a word that is wrongly translated. I have read maybe twelve books written by psychologists and psychiatrists who talk about self-esteem. But what are they talking about? They are talking about the self-esteem of the ego.

Self-esteem is very difficult. You must have the Self to esteem it. You do not have Self. You are ego yet. You are the ego devastated in the hands of maya, glamors, illusions; devastated in the live events, relationships. You do not know what you are doing.

Actually, ego is very automatic, mechanical. Ego is always mechanical and automatic, and I do not respect a man who is automatic and mechanical. He does good things; he does bad things. He is mixed up. His judgment, his evaluations have no standards, and so on. How can you esteem that?

We forcefully make that criminal to esteem himself. What are we doing? Eventually he is esteeming his glamors, his dreams, his wishes, his goals, which are not standard, pure goals. In this way we lead him on a false path to esteem his ego instead of esteeming his Self.

How ego is developed

Egos develop when you are praised, when you are bribed, when you are flattered. That ego develops on the physical level, emotional level, and mental level. At the physical level it mostly develops when you help somebody too much. He develops the ego because he thinks he is something, and that is why you are helping him. Your help must be very intellectual, very wise about the one you are helping. Most of the problems of humanity are caused by the wrong help in the wrong place at the wrong time. "Ah, I am something." He becomes an ant on the forehead of the elephant.

One day an elephant was entering with a victorious king into a city. A fly on the elephant's nose said, "Look, everyone is applauding me." Sometimes we are that fly. We think that people are applauding us. They are not applauding us sometimes. They are applauding for the king, but the fly says, "It is for me."

If you are flattered, if you are not told your mistakes, you develop an ego straight away. The Teacher takes you and tells you that you are like this and that. If the person is hurt, ti means the Teacher is cracking the glamor, the illusions, the maya, the Threshold. That is the role that sometimes the Teacher plays to crack these things.

If you talk about his illusions and glamors and foolishness and vanity and ego, he will react, not on the outside sometimes, but his inner mechanism starts to work. "Son of a gun... I did these things for him and he still does not like me." The inner tape recorder runs day and night to justify himself, or herself, that he is a very nice man, or woman, and the Teacher is wrong. If this reaction is there, there is no hope for now. Sometimes Teachers, to test your ego, even say something is wrong that is right and you react. It is the reaction that is important.

Ego develops with praise and with accepting a  person as is. For eχample we generally accept our friends as the are, but this is a very bad state of consciousness. One day I saw a lady who had a very nice friend who was late for dinner. She said to her, "You must come here at the right time, not two hours later." I liked it because she fixed her. She did not say, "Come any time you want. We eat our dinner and you come two hours later to satisfy your own glamor." Have straight words with your friends, or sometimes keep a long time of silence until you know that you are really right. This helps the person destroy his ego.

One must become aware of his vanity

At the beginning of self-actualization, one must become aware of his vanity. Unless vanity is recognized, a person will never be able to find the path. Vanity creates mirages, and a person's life is lived in vanity, while, in the meantime, he plays the game of the ostrich, hiding his head in the sand while exposing the other end!

Enthusiasm makes you an organizer

Organizational ability comes with the energy of the electricity of enthusiasm. If your machinery is lacking electricity, the machinery does not work. Enthusiasm makes you an organizer. It is very important that spiritual people do not act like hippies. Each of you must be an organizer. You must be organizers of what?

I am not referring to organizers of peace movements. In your business, in your factory, in your shop, in your home, in your community, in your church, in your group, you must be organizing and doing things. Birthdays, Christmas days, how can they be organized? Those who can organize have psychic energy. They have enthusiasm. By organizing these things you increase your enthusiasm, because things that start to flow through you increase in volume, in quality, and in quantity.

Seven steps on the path of freedom

Freedom is not what average people think. There are seven steps on the path of freedom:

1. Freedom from blind urges and drives of your body, and of the bodies of others
2. Freedom from hatred, fear, anger, jealousy, revenge, slander, malice, and treason
3. Freedom from greed, separatism, ego, vanity, and fanaticism
4. Freedom from ignorance
5. Freedom from any harmful thoughts, actions, and words.
6. Freedom from death
7. Freedom from time and space

Teach people the science of freedom.

How to conquer negativity

We can conquer negativity by the following methods:

One thing that is very important is to increase your joy. Every time you are depleted of joy, you fall into negativity. So take the book Joy and Healing and study it and eventually memorize one of the exercise sections in it. You will save your life because if you fall into negativity, all other devils will follow it. First increase joy within you. Joy is psychic energy and it destroys all kinds of negativity. Joy comes from your Solar Angel, from your inner resources.

The second step is to show people the consequences of negativity, what negativity does to their body, to their friendship, to their nervous system, and to their creativity. Tell them what wrong decisions they make, and how their decisions affect all the people who are related to them, their nation and humanity.

Discuss negativity very openly. Do not hide anything. But you are going to bring it up to a scientific or psychological state of expression and make it creative, such as creating a drama.

Reveal the causes of the negativity.

When you see that a person is acting negatively tell him or her the positive side of a situation and how things can be done positively.

Try to show him or her the bright side of things. Teach your friends how to appreciate things.

Teach people admiration.

You are going to create ecstasy to conquer negativity.

Fasting is very important. When you fast, and if you are obsessed by negative spirits, they will not like you and leave. When you fast, they become hungry and look for someone else to nourish them. I am not joking. That is why Christ said, "You can take the evils from people after fasting." Fasting is very important, and if you have certain problems in your home that you cannot solve, fast and you will notice that your negativity and various other poisons will disappear. Then you will not be tasty for the devils.

Do not marry negative people. Do not hire them in your business. If you have done this already, change them. Do not give any high position to them because they will destroy you.

Negativity also is found on three levels: physically negative people, emotionally negative, and mentally negative people. It is easy to cure physical and emotional negativity. Negativity in the physical body appears in manners and dressing. But it is very difficult to cure mental negativity. Such people are very smart, sharp, witty, and to handle them you will need to be super intelligent and in some degree consciously negative.

Let me mention a few other agents of healing from negativity. They are seclusion, silence, fasting, prayer, meditation, gratitude, creativity, and again, joy exercises. If you do these things you will find the ways and means to pull yourself out of negativity.

How negativity develops

Negativity develops under the following conditions:

-Very painful life conditions, lots of suffering, posthypnotic imagery in the home and environment eventually develop negativity.

-Guilt feelings are one of the great sources of negativity because people are identified with their guilt to such a degree that they do not see any other image for themselves.

-Posthypnotic suggestions, television and movie programs create negativity in you.

-When the connection between you and your Inner Guide is cut or severed, you really fall into negativity.

-There is another reason that some people are negative. We call it a curse.

-Hurt feelings, defeat, failure, obsession and possession make you negative.

-Waste of sex energy and exhaustion in work makes you negative.

-Continuous criticism makes one negative.

-Childhood among negative people who were failures and self-destructive causes you to be a negative person.

Negative people

Negative people have no appreciation. I have seldom heard words or expressions of appreciation from negative persons. Most everything they say is negative. They lack appreciation. By learning about these negative things, you can start thinking that the cure for this kind of negativity is mentally to create their opposites. For example, if people are unappreciative, you can teach them the science of how to appreciate people.

Negative people always make others worthless. Even if people have done great things, a negative person will find something to convince you that they are worthless people. These are signs that you are going to watch for in people.

Negative people always try to find an ugly motive behind your actions. It is very difficult to deal with these people because in everything they say, there is something negative, destructive, and ugly. This condition is so contagious that eventually you believe what they are doing. You think that they are very discriminative, have sharp eyes,  and see exactly what is going on. You lose your positivity and join them. Nothing is beautiful for them; nothing is glorious or admirable for them. If two people walk together, a negative person will say, "You know why they are together." If two people are eating together, they find various negative motives behind it. This is what negativity is.

Negative people like to gossip. They gossip continuously. When they sit down with you at dinner, or when they travel with you, they immediately open their big mouth and start criticizing and gossiping. Gossip and criticism are nothing else but seeing the negative side of things. They are not offering constructive criticism. It is not intended to correct others or give them a new light, a new explanation; it is destructive criticism.

Negative people try to find the weaknesses of other people.

Negative people speak about their ill health.

Negative persons think that everyone is inferior to them.

Negative people speak about their bad childhood.

Negative people speak badly about others, especially about their parents. They speak very badly, of course, about their teachers because they hallucinate and project whatever negativity they have on their teachers, on their parents. But you can learn something very important from them. By studying a negative person you find exactly what he is, truly, within himself. Whatever negativity he is speaking about others, that negativity is in him.

Try to create admiration

Are you an admirable husband? If your wife is not admiring you, be careful. She looks to somebody for admire. That is why some women fall in love with their priests, actors, presidents, and the husband wonders why. It is because they need to admire someone. They cannot live without admiration. It is so important to remember this. Try to be an object of admiration for your wife, husband, or children. Children must admire their parents. "My daddy is so bright, so good." Admiration destroys negativity.

In your business, in any relationship, in your marriage, let your husband or wife admire you. You have his love when he admires you. A lady who came for counselling told me that her husband was losing interest in her. I said, "I would do the same." She asked, "Why?" Observe how you are dressed. Look at your face, your hair." She said, "You are not supposed to say these things." I said, "I am old-fashioned man. I do not have the science of counseling with flattery. I tell things the right way to people's face. Who is going to be interested in you? Look at your shoes." I said, "Eat a little bit less. How can your husband be interested in you when you are carrying a five hundred pound load behind you?"

Work on yourself. Try to create admiration. People must admire your body, your emotions, your voice, your hair. If you are going to impose yourself on others to make them admire you, it will not succeed. "Here I am as I am. Either he loves me or not." It does not work like that.

Children who are filled with heroic images...

When you present children with beautiful fairy tales and parables, they learn how to live as noble people. They develop virtues to meet the world with a spirit of sacrifice and kindness. Children who are filled with heroic images grow up to be courageous men and women who care more about their worth as human beings than about the size of their bank accounts.

Read the newspapers today and you will read about all the crime that is happening. The crime rate is becoming higher and higher. If you turn on your television, you will see so many programs with fighting and shooting. Or you will see police stories with crime as the central issue. It is all the same story of fighting and killing. What kind of values do these movies develop in our children? Why are not we presenting them with examples of nobility and right human relations?

The problems a person is having with other people are problems that he is having with himself

In my research I found out that the problems a person is having with other people are problems that he is having with his personality, with his body, emotions, and mind.

If you abuse your body, you abuse the bodies of others. If you abuse your feelings, you abuse the feelings of others. If you abuse your own mind, you abuse the minds of others. And once you abuse others, they will abuse you, and you will abuse them. This will go on forever, until one of you comes to his senses and stops the ugly game.

Sometimes self-abuse creates an enormous fear, a fear that is born inside. This fear is the result of the withdrawal of our Solar Angel. The Solar Angel temporarily withdraws due to our abuses, and this leads us into depression and fear.

Meditation creates a safety net

Meditation creates a safety net around a person's body, home, car, and office. As we continue daily meditation, we can see the expansion of this protective field. We are told that the protective aura of a Great One can even save a city from many disasters.

We must remember that we live in a sphere of many destructive forces, entities, microbes, and germs. It is only because of our aura that we can create a sphere of insulation around ourselves and protect ourselves from hostile forces.  When we weaken our aura through wrong thinking, negative emotions, and wrong actions, we open doors for those forces that attack us.

True meditation is done when...

True meditation is done when the consciousness operates on the third level of the mental plane. One can know that his consciousness is operating on the third mental level by observing the following signs:

1.a sense of immortality
2. a sense of timelessness
3. a sense of non-existence
4. a deep joy and serenity
5. a realization that nothing will stop progress toward perfection
6. an increasing development of indifference toward factors that slowly lose their power over one who does real meditation: *treason, *failure, *mistakes, *defeat, *betrayal, *malice, *slander.
7. an increasing development of indifference toward: *praise, *fame, *reputation, *success, *victory, *position, *possessions.
8. a sensitivity to feel divinity in everything, everywhere
9. abstract idealism and practical thinking and action
10. increasing creativity
11. increasing urge to serve
12. increasing urge to cooperate with the creative forces of the Universe
13. increasing energy and courage in the physical, emotional, and mental realms
14. clear observation
15. increasing awareness of the Higher Worlds

These fifteen signs are indications that the consciousness of the person is operating on the third level of the higher mind.

As the consciousness advances in the mental plane, meditation turns into contemplation and eventually into illumination. As the consciousness climbs up and expands on the mental plane, a person begins to realize the existence of higher communications. His communication with his Inner Guide increases. Then he registers communication with living Great Ones Who were watching his progress on the Path. He then eventually comes into contact with his Teacher.

Many who think they are doing meditation are wandering through the corridors of the lower mind, playing with imported or self-made thoughtforms, or with past memories collected in their mental body.

Meditation is a breakthrough from all those psychological limitations which our memory weaves with the thread of our past failures. Once a breakthrough is made, the creative powers of a person increase with energy and vision.

True meditation continually raises a person from the limiting factors of his life toward freedom.
